BedtimeCoach is a wellness app, not a medical device. Consult your pediatrician for medical sleep concerns. Results vary by child and family.
BedtimeCoach provides general sleep-routine information for healthy children and is not medical advice. Always follow your pediatrician's guidance, especially for babies under 4 months, premature babies, or any child with a health or feeding condition. Our safe-sleep guidance follows the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations.
Not medical advice
The information on BedtimeCoach, including every calculator, schedule, plan, guide, and article, is general sleep-routine information for healthy children. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for care from your pediatrician. Reading this site or purchasing a plan does not create a doctor-patient or any other clinical relationship. Always follow your pediatrician's guidance over anything you read here.
When to talk to your pediatrician instead
Some situations belong with a medical professional, not a website. Talk to your pediatrician before using routine-building content for babies under 4 months or premature babies, for any child with a health or feeding condition, or whenever something about your child's sleep, breathing, or behavior worries you. If you ever believe your child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number right away.
Safe sleep comes first
Our safe-sleep content follows the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations. If anything on this site ever appears to conflict with current AAP guidance or with what your pediatrician tells you, follow the AAP and your pediatrician. No routine, schedule, or method matters more than a safe sleep environment.
No promised outcomes, because children differ
BedtimeCoach does not promise that any routine, method, or plan will have your child sleeping through the night, napping longer, or settling faster by any date. Sleep develops differently in every child, and temperament, development, health, and family circumstances all matter. Results vary by child and family, and anyone who guarantees a specific sleep outcome for your child is promising something no one can honestly promise.
Calculators and schedules are typical ranges, not assessments
Wake windows, nap counts, and sleep totals shown by our tools are typical ranges for healthy children of a given age, offered as planning starting points. They are not evaluations of your child, and falling outside a range is not a diagnosis of anything. Sleep difficulties can sometimes have medical causes, and identifying or ruling those out is your pediatrician's work, not this site's.

External links and directory listings
Where we link to AAP, NICHD, CDC, and other outside pages, we do so to point you to the guidance behind a statement. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability. A link or a directory listing on this site is not an endorsement, a referral, or a recommendation of any provider, and an outside page may change after we reference it.
How to confirm what is right for your child
For your child, the final word is your pediatrician, who knows your child's history and can examine them. Bring questions from our guides to your child's checkups, use our pediatrician discussion letters if they help you organize those questions, and treat anything on this site that disagrees with your pediatrician as wrong for your child.
